Muslim American Community Association (MACA) condemns in the strongest terms the barbaric terror attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand during the Friday prayers.
We are greatly saddened by this heinous and heartbreaking crime that left 50 worshipers dead and more 50 injured who had gathered for prayers in their houses of worship. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families and we share message of love and solidarity with the loved ones of those killed or injured in the attacks.
We also extend our thanks and gratitude to our neighbors, community leaders and law enforcement who have reached out to us at these trying times to express support and solidarity. We urge our law enforcement to take the necessary steps to protect all members of our community and we thank them for their continued support.
We further emphasize that using violence to express views or beliefs is unacceptable and has no place in humanity and any religion in this world.
We ask Allah (SWT) to have His Mercy on the deceased and the injured worshipers. We ask Allah (SWT) to give strength to the families of the deceased to ease their grief and strengthen their faith and we ask Allah (SWT) to grant a speedy recovery of the injured.
